Founded in 1991, the Carlos III University of Madrid Theater Group is one of the most established, renowned, and stable theater companies on the Spanish university scene. For more than three decades, hundreds of students have trained in its specialized workshops and participated in its productions, which has provided them with a comprehensive artistic education that complements their academic majors and is fundamental to their liberal arts education. <\/p>\n
The group places a strong emphasis on Garc\u00eda Lorca, with seven productions based on his works, and its repertoire includes great classics (Lope de Vega, Shakespeare, Moli\u00e8re, Valle Incl\u00e1n) as well as contemporary European and Latin American playwrights (Kolt\u00e8s, Lagarce, Itziar Pascual, Raquel Carri\u00f3, Abilio Est\u00e9vez). The company has toured extensively throughout Spain and other European countries and has won over a hundred awards. <\/p>\n
