disparate

DISPARES is a finalist artistic practice laboratory that brings together students from the sciences and the humanities to create a collaborative work born of dialogue between seemingly disparate fields of knowledge.

The creation of these unlikely partnerships fosters dialogue between the two disciplines within a horizontal hierarchy, in which scientific innovation enables the development of new artistic approaches for artists, and in which, in turn, the creativity and methodologies of artistic creation enable the development of new technological applications for scientists.

The name DISPARES refers to pairs (two people) who come from distant fields (science and art). The methodology behind this initiative involves creating these unlikely pairs to develop a creative project that will serve as a university student’s final project.

The format of this workshop leads to the production of projects that often also serve as Final Undergraduate Theses (TFG) and Final Master’s Theses (TFM).
