As part of the UC3M India Week, Carlos III University of Madrid is hosting the lecture “From Sanskrit to Hindi,” a session dedicated to exploring the historical, cultural, and linguistic evolution that links one of India’s great classical languages with one of its major contemporary languages.

The lecture will be given by Jyoti Sharma, full professor of Hindi at the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) Chair at the University of Valladolid. The event is organized in collaboration with Casa de la India and the ICCR.

The conference will provide a better understanding of India’s linguistic diversity and the importance of its languages as a vehicle for memory, thought, identity, and cultural creation.
