As part of the UC3M India Week, the Patio de las Promociones is hosting “From the Ganges to the Mediterranean”, a performance of Kathak classical dance with live music presented by Nupura Centre for Indian Performing Arts / Shreyashee Nag Dance Company.

The performance, starring the dancer and choreographer Shreyashee Nag, takes the audience on an artistic journey from the banks of the Ganges to the Mediterranean through the expressive and rhythmic language of Kathak, one of the great classical dance traditions of northern India. The dance will be accompanied live by Amit Mishraon tabla; Ankit Mishra, sarangi; and Amol Gandharva, classical Hindustani singing.

From the Ganges to the Mediterranean

From the Ganges to the Mediterranean invites the audience on a cultural and emotional journey in which dance becomes the primary vehicle of expression. Through Kathak and its dialogue with Hindustani classical music, the performance demonstrates how art can transcend borders and build a bridge between India and Spain through rhythm, gesture, melody, and expression.

Lasting approximately 20–25 minutes, the show offers an accessible experience for both those familiar with Indian culture and those encountering it for the first time, celebrating intercultural dialogue and the growing cultural ties between the two countries.
