As part of UC3M’s India Week, the Colmenarejo Campus is hosting the roundtable discussion “Philosophy and Religion in India, ” an event dedicated to exploring some of India’s great traditions of thought and their relationship to the subcontinent’s religious, spiritual, and cultural practices.

Synopsis
In this roundtable discussion, several experts on Indian culture will debate how to understand“philosophy,”its main themes, and its most significant insights. Historically, religion and philosophy were not as clearly separated as they are in the West, so the relationship between the two will be analyzed. The conception of the human being, the cosmos, and the Absolute will be applied to specific topics such as the relationship between consciousness and the brain, the importance of meditation, the status of women in Indian society, contemporary spiritual teachers, and the development of Indian studies in Spanish.
