As part of the UC3M India Week, this panel offers an exploration of the richness and diversity of contemporary Indian literature, characterized by the coexistence of multiple languages, traditions, and cultural spaces.

Synopsis
The session will address some of the major trends in contemporary literary creation and their relationship to the profound social and cultural transformations taking place in the country. Special attention will be given to the circulation of these works of literature beyond their contexts of origin, as well as to the decisive role of translation and publishing.
The discussion will also provide an opportunity to reflect on the relationships between literature, identity, memory, migration, and the global world. It will also examine the reception of Indian authors and works in Spain and throughout the Spanish-speaking world. The goal is to offer a multifaceted view of a dynamic literary tradition capable of connecting local experiences with some of the major debates of our time.
