Music and Margaritas · Spring Edition 2026
April 22 and 23, 2026. Humanities Gardens – UC3M. Getafe Campus
The festival
This year’s festival stems from a question: What does a generation sound like as it comes of age while imagining the future of culture? Sponsored by the Office of the Vice Rector for Communication, Culture, and Transparency at Carlos III University of Madrid and organized by students in the Master’s Program in Music Industry and Sound Studies, the festival is conceived as a living laboratory where music is not only listened to, but also thought about, produced, and experienced.
The narrative that underpins this proposal is one of transition: from the classroom to the stage, from theory to practice, from the emerging to the established. More than just a musical event, the festival is conceived as a shared mindset rooted in creative autonomy, aesthetic hybridization, and collective creation. Every element of the program reflects this process, in which the learnings from the master’s program meet the public to create a cultural experience that broadens and complements university life.
The programming criteria have been structured around three pillars: aesthetic coherence, diversity, and proximity. The goal has been to create a sounding identity rooted in indie-pop in a broad and contemporary sense, favoring acts with a distinctive voice and careful composition. At the same time, priority has been given to diversity in artistic trajectories, backgrounds, and creative visions, bringing attention to scenes that operate outside the mainstream circuits. Finally, proximity has guided the selection of formats that foster real encounters between artists and audiences, viewing curation as part of the educational process itself.
The festival thus fosters an active dialogue between music, the university, and the community. The campus is transformed into a space for shared cultural experiences, open to students, faculty, and the local community. By integrating performance venues into everyday university life, this edition does more than just schedule concerts: it fosters connections, reinforces the university’s role as a cultural agent, and transforms the academic experience into a collective and creative one.
Team responsible for curation, management, communication, and production of Music and Daisies 2026. Students in the UC3M Master’s Program in Music Industry and Sound Studies.
Daisies have become the visual symbol of the festival and the common thread running through its entire identity. Featured in both the posters and the event’s decor, they create a recognizable and inviting graphic universe that invites visitors to immerse themselves in the festival experience from the very first moment.
The image features a easily recognizable design, designed to stick in the public’s memory and support the promotion of the event both on campus and across digital channels. Its aesthetic resonates with the visual language of the contemporary indie scene and is combined with spring-inspired touches that evoke the time of year when the festival takes place, reinforcing the idea of creative blossoming that runs through this entire edition.
