Dani Dicostas sings her songs in her own unique way, which makes her truly special. We could say that her inspiration stems from the internal struggle of all these emotions as she breaks free from musical boundaries, with lyrics that go straight to the heart and stir our very souls. From moments of introspection to times of celebration, she has become one of the freshest voices on the current music scene, blending pop, electronic, and indie. Get ready to enjoy her songs like “Si te vas,” “Lágrimas,” and “Ceras rosas” on a unique stage surrounded by daisies and great music. The countdown has just begun!
Welcome to the 2024–25 academic year. To celebrate the university community’s reunion after the summer break and welcome all those joining our university for the first time, we’ve organized an opening celebration in collaboration with Radio 3 (RTVE). The public university and public radio are joining forces to celebrate the start of the academic year and the season, diversity, reunions, music, culture, and knowledge. The event will feature live music by Fresquito y Mango, Ganges, and Hinds. Journalists Irene Valiente (Hoy empieza todo) and Alex Gara (Generación Ya) will serve as MCs, and there will also be interviews—and who knows, maybe a surprise or two. Those who cannot attend can follow the event live on Radio 3. Carlos III University of Madrid and Radio 3: making a difference through public broadcasting.
The celebration will kick off with the electronic energy of Fresquito and Mango. From Zaragoza to the world. We can’t think of a better start: Juan (Fresquito) and Mango (Mario) are bold, refreshing, tropical, and uninhibited. Their songs are as catchy as bubblegum and blend all kinds of genres and musical styles through their unique “turbomix.” You won’t be able to stop dancing.
The second artist to take the stage will be the Cantabrian artist Ganges (Teresa Gutiérrez). With a meteoric career, Ganges moves effortlessly between bedroom pop, electronic music, and hyperpop, creating a sensory and aesthetic universe filled with references to Japanese culture and cutting-edge science fiction. With a live show meticulously crafted down to the last detail and on the verge of releasing a new album, *SORA*—from which she’s already dropped singles like “Igual ya hemos roto y no me he enterado” and “Un llavero”—this is an excellent opportunity to see an artist perform live whose roots we know, but not yet how far she’s capable of going.
The festival will wrap up with a performance by Hinds, who have just released their fourth album, *VIVA HINDS*, featuring breathtaking international collaborations with artists like Beck and Grian Chatten (lead singer of Fontaines D.C.). The Madrid-based band is back in full force with their sharp guitars, pop melodies, catchy mid-tempo tracks, and their celebratory embrace of youth culture and their identity as young women of the 21st century. After a decade touring some of the world’s most important stages (Coachella, Fuji Rock, SXSW), they’ve chosen Carlos III University in Madrid to present the new tracks from an album that’s destined to become a must-listen for the 2024–2025 academic year. You can’t miss it.
